I would like to welcome you to unctv.org on behalf of the staff of UNC-TV, our Board of Trustees, and the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina, which holds our broadcasting licenses. UNC-TV is not just a single television station, but a statewide public television network that covers all of North Carolina, as well as areas in Virginia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia.  In addition to its traditional analog UNC-TV program service, UNC-TV currently provides five digital broadcast services.  The digital program services are: UNC-TV (the programs you normally see on analog TV), UNC-KD (a kids channel), UNC-ED (an educational channel), UNC-NC (a channel that emphasizes North Carolina-oriented programming), and UNC-HD (high-definition programming).  During the evening hours, UNC-TV, UNC-KD, and UNC-HD are available; during the rest of the day, the services are UNC-TV, UNC-KD, UNC-ED, and UNC-NC.  All the program services are available 24 hours a day to subscribers on many cable systems throughout North Carolina. The program schedule and supplemental information for all of these services can be found on this Web site. UNC-TV is one of the most prolific producers of original programming in all of public television, broadcasting more than 419 hours of programs about North Carolina people, places, activities, and issues last year.

Our Web site provides important and useful information about our services to children, as well as our educational services; ways you can become a member, contact us, or submit a program idea; upcoming events; and links to other interesting Web sites.  You can also sign up for our free UNC-TV e-Guide, which will be e-mailed to you twice a month.
