Shannon Vickery interviews Rose Hill native Wendell H. Murphy in the latest edition of UNC-TV's unique Biographical Conversations first person documentary series. Murphy, credited with revolutionizing the pork production business in our state and worldwide, extended his business success with achievements in politics and education.
In this three-part special, Murphy discusses his Duplin County childhood, college days at North Carolina State University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, working with his father to build Murphy Family Farms, years as a state legislator and dedication to his alma mater.
"The Biographical Conversations series is an historic video legacy for the people of North Carolina. This series is a great service, providing compelling television programs for today and an invaluable archive for the future," says Shannon Vickery, program host and UNC-TV's Director of Production.
Biographical Conversations is supported by a grant from the A.J. Fletcher Foundation.
