Equal Access to Education and NC Catalyst
Original Broadcast Date: Saturday, November 2, 10:00 am
Many in
north carolina are watching very closely the next moves of the state
in response to a recent order issued by a state court judge. The
order requires the state to prove its provision of a sound, basic
education for every child. It's an issue that has come to be known
as the Leandro Decision. In this episode of Education Forum, host
Diane Lucas addresses the issues of equal access, diversity, and
quality as they pertain to education for all learners and North
Carolina's public institutions of education. Otherprogram highlights
include an update on the progress of the NC
Catalyst project as well as exciting news on electronic services
available from the state Department of Public Instruction.
