PBS TeacherLine is the premier professional development resource offering online courses for PreK–12 teachers. Trained, certified facilitators lead more than 80 top-quality, six-week courses that span the entire curriculum: Reading/Language Arts, Science, Mathematics, Instructional Technology, and Instructional Strategies. Coursework can cover a complete sequence of study or address a specific requirement, depending on a teacher’s or instructional coach’s needs. Online learning is fun, flexible, and collaborative.

PBS TeacherLine offers the high quality, research-based and standards-based professional development opportunities that North Carolina teachers need, in an accessible, online format. TeacherLine—created in Ready To Teach funds from the U.S. Department of Education and designed to meet the goals of No Child Left Behind—provides these exceptional courses are affordable. Our collaboration with respected educational organizations and leading experts ensures that all courses address local and national standards, including NETS•T and NCTM standards, as well as NCLB requirements.

Recently, Teachers' Domain (WGBH Boston) has joined with TeacherLine. It is our goal to help North Carolina teachers—as they shift roles from  teacher/facilitator to adult learners—to be to become part of a viable online community of learners. Working together, we can reach the goal of having every teacher in North Carolina attain highly qualified status.
