Students Can Turn Trash into Treasure The Design Squad Trash to Treasure Competition has begun! Challenge your students of all ages to take everyday discarded or recycled material and re-engineer it into an out-of-the-box invention. Enter online from now until August 31.

UNC-TV Ready To Learn Outreach During Summer 2008, UNC-TV Ready To Learn Educational Outreach Staff will conduct nine workshops, training 250 adults and impacting 1002 children, as well as, eleven community events, impacting 3904 adults and 6919 children. These activities will promote literacy, math and science, health, technology, and much, much more.

UNC-TV's Ready To Learn for teachers and childcare providers is an unprecedented combination of services, including the full line-up of PBS children's series--the quality educational, nonviolent, noncommercial programming that parents have trusted for two generations; specially-produced "program break" segments delivering educational messages; and a variety of outreach services and materials for parents, teachers, and other caregivers.
