General Education Development with on-site facilitators at colleges and through literacy councils and/or libraries, GED/ABE programs are made available to the citizens of North Carolina. In working closely with the North Carolina Department of Community Colleges and its 58 constituent institutions, the Adult Learning program area of the Center provides utilization workshops to enhance the programs available for adult learners in need of basic skills instructions. With all 58 community colleges participating and utilizing the GED broadcast tapes, the Center's Adult Learning personnel have played a vital role in meeting the needs of adult basic skills students enrolled in ABE and GED.
