Holiday Sounds From Appalachian

Holiday Sounds From AppalachianLet the festive fun begin with a variety of holiday hits from Appalachian State University’s Hayes School of Music in Holiday Sounds From Appalachian.

The homegrown Holiday Sounds From Appalachian concert features more than a dozen musical ensembles including the sweet serenading sounds of the University Singers, all from Appalachian State University's own Farthing Auditorium.

The seasonal special displays holiday standards and newer arrangements of well-known compositions.
including a medley by the Steely Pan Steel Band, “Dance of the Reed Pipes” and “Greensleeves” by the Flute Ensemble, selections by the Treble Choir, “O, Come all Ye Faithful” and “We Wish you a Merry Christmas” by the Brass Choir, “Mary Sat A-Rockin’” by the Glee Club, “Sleigh Ride” by the Appalachian Symphony Orchestra and “The Christmas Song” by the Chamber Singers.

“This has been a really successful community event,” said Bill Harbinson, dean of the Hayes School of Music. “It kicks off the holiday season for a lot of people.”
