PublicMediaCamp (PubCamp) is an ongoing initiative to strengthen the relationship that public broadcasters have with their communities through the creation of collaborative projects. On Friday, August 20, 2010, UNC-TV partnered with MCNC to host North Carolina’s first-ever PublicMediaCamp (PubCampNC). While the event has now concluded, we hope that you will remain engaged with us to discuss the posibility of future events and to let us know how to improve our strategies, organization and communication.

Based on the national PublicMediaCamp (PubCamp) initiative and incorporating the theme of “strengthening public media’s relationship with the public through the creation of collaborative projects,” PubCampNC employed an unconference format: allowing participants to plan their own conference sessions and schedule the day of the event. Using online tools, including wikis, blogs, social media and video streaming, the event brought together an array of diverse groups with the state’s public media organizations and beyond. We posted live updates to Facebook and Twitter during the event and spoke with our remote participants.
