Dinosaur Train celebrates trains this May with an all-new episode, "Junior Conductor Jamboree/Troodon Train Day". Buddy and his friends ride the Dinosaur Train from one end of the line to the other. Then, the
Pteranodon family rides to Troodon Town to celebrate Troodon Train Day, where the main event is a concert by King Cryolophosaurus, giving his first performance in years! Be the first to view this exciting new episode during a special screening at the "Junior Conductor Jamboree Day". See screening times below.
UNC-TV's own Read-a-roo will be there to celebrate National Train Day! The Read to Me Festival is a FREE event at the Children’s Museum of Wilmington and hosted
by the Junior League of Wilmington. The festival’s purpose is to promote literacy and a love of reading for all children with an emphasis on those from
disadvantaged circumstances. The Junior League of Wilmington has long had a focus on both children and education and
this event further serves our community as it promotes learning and education at a very young age, with an ultimate goal of
creating lifelong learners and reader.
In addition to receiving a free book and educational supplies, children and families in attendance will be served healthy
snacks and lunch. Each child participated in several different featured exhibits with accompanying books and story times.
Highlighting the event will be a performance by No Sleeves Magic and special appearances by local celebrities,
UNCW mascot, the Chick-Fil-A Cow, and UNC-TV’s Read-a-Roo!

PBS KIDS® Series Between the Lions® Fourth Annual Roadshow
Brings Live, Interactive Performances to Charlotte, North Carolina
Theo and Leona, members of the pride family from the ten-time Emmy®Award-winning PBS KIDS series Between the Lions, will roar into Charlotte, North Carolina on Friday, May 7, 2010 and Saturday, May 8, 2010, to perform live, interactive shows presented in conjunction with UNC-TV. While in NC for the fourth annual Between the Lions Roadshow, Leona and Theo will perform a live show at the Matthews Library and live shows at ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center, as well as a special show with the Salvation Army. UNC-TV’s lovable literacy mascot, Read-a-roo, will also make a guest appearance during the events at ImaginOn and Matthews Library. Click here for more information.

The Sesame Street Gang Celebrate "A Capitol Fourth"
On the Fourth of July, we pause to remember and celebrate the values of liberty and justice that make our country great, and to be thankful for the remarkable freedoms that we enjoy in the United States of America. Join millions as we celebrate A Capitol Fourth.
A Capitol Fourth features star-studded entertainment and crowd-pleasing fun on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. As a special treat for the entire family, Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch and more of the SESAME STREET gang will be on hand to celebrate America's 233rd birthday on A Capitol Fourth! During America's biggest birthday party, the Muppets will perform a musical medley of patriotic favorites, as well as iconic songs that everyone knows and loves. Elmo and his friends are celebrating a special birthday this year too -- 40 years of SESAME STREET!
Watching A Capitol Fourth is a great way to celebrate America’s independence, so tune into the festivities by watching UNC-TV on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 8:00 pm and 9:30 pm.
A parade of superstars — including Barry Manilow, Aretha Franklin, Natasha Bedingfield, and the cast of Jersey Boys under the direction of maestro Erich Kunzel with the National Symphony Orchestra with host Jimmy Smits, and of course, our loveable Muppets from SESAME STREET set the tone for this spectacular American birthday party.

Visit the world of Clifford, Emily Elizabeth and all of the residents of Birdwell Island while starting your journey aboard the Birdwell Island ferry, complete with seagull sounds and clanking ship bells. During the adventure, you can explore some of Clifford's hometown favorites like Samuel's Fish and Chips Shack, T-Bone's Beach Fun, Emily Elizabeth's Backyard Theater, Howard's Home, Cleo's Backyard, Birdwell Island Post Office and the Birdwell Island Library and best of all Clifford's own doghouse.
