David Huppert joined UNC-TV in October 2008 as an Assignment Editor for North Carolina Now, the network's nightly news and
information show. In his first two years at UNC-TV David enjoyed
writing, producing, and booking interviews for the public affairs show.
As a relatively new North Carolinian David immersed himself in the Old
North State's culture and folklore, consuming as much of state's rich
legacy (and barbecue) as possible.
In 2011 David became a
Producer / Reporter for North Carolina
Now focusing on stories about people and companies, "handcrafted
in North Carolina." What does that mean? David profiles people,
places, events, and communities that lean on North Carolina's unique
past to help shape the future. "There is a growing sentiment in North
Carolina that everything old is new again. From the mountains to the
coast, North Carolinians are investing in the future by reviving
traditional practices. I feel blessed to share those stories with our
state-wide audience."
Prior to joining UNC-TV David produced
segments for several talk shows in New York City, including the Charlie Rose show and The O'Reilly Factor.
Side
note: As a proud graduate of the University of Michigan, David reports
that barely a day goes by when someone doesn't remind him about App
State's victory in 2007.
