In fall of 2009 as the culmination of the North Carolina Rising project, UNC-TV held four topical town hall meetings to discuss the latest in rural economic development. Moderated by UNC-TV's Director of Production, Shannon Vickery, each event featured an interactive dialogue among expert panelists, representing local leadership in education, policy and industry, and ordinary citizens.
