The Forever Inn’s Individual Blackberry Crisp Topping: 1 cup flour½ cup sugar¼ tsp salt½ cup oats (old-fashioned) Berries: Blackberries (fresh or frozen), enough to fill a 6 oz. ramekin1 T. sugarUnsalted butter Combine topping ingredients. (This can be held in a tightly closed container for weeks.) Fill the ramekins to the top with the blackberries, distributing evenly. Sprinkle 1 T. sugar over the blackberries. (Most of the sugar will fall through to the bottom.) Place your ramekins on a baking sheet and sprinkle about 1 T. of the topping over the blackberries in each ramekin, keeping most of the topping towards the center. (Let the topping set on top of the berries. You don’t want all of the topping to fall through to the bottom.) Place a 1/8” thick slice of unsalted butter in the center on top of the topping. Bake at 400 degrees for at least 45 minutes or until the crisp topping is lightly browned and the berries are bubbling. Remove from the oven. Let cool 5 minutes before serving.
