UNC-TV Honors Three at Annual Appreciation Dinner
UNC-TV honored three outstanding longtime supporters at its annual Appreciation Dinner held Tuesday, September 21 at the historic Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill. The special guest speaker was Tom Hudson, co-anchor of the PBS series Nightly Business Report.
Receiving the Producers Circle Award for exceptional service and support for UNC-TV was former university executive Wyndham Robertson of Salisbury. Robertson was cited for her service on the UNC-TV board, participation in UNC-TV activities, advocacy, counsel and more.
This year, the UNC-TV added a new award for Partnership to the list of honors, and its recipient was Dr. David Jones of the North Carolina Zoo. Dr. Jones, who hosted the UNC-TV documentary Making Connections, and the Zoo were honored for their outstanding collaboration with UNC-TV, making new programming and services available to the people of North Carolina.
Receiving the prestigious Corporate Award was long-time support Bill Shore, Director of U.S. Community Partnerships for GlaxoSmithKline. Shore and the company were recognized for their 22 years of corporate partnership, providing volunteers and sponorship for many UNC-TV programs and fundraising campaigns.
UNC-TV is North Carolina's statewide public television network.
