Robert D. Teer of Durham Appointed to UNC-TV Board of Trustees
The University of North Carolina Board of Governors has appointed Robert D. Teer of Durham to a four-year term on the UNC-TV Board of Trustees. The appointment will run through June 30, 2012.
Mr. Teer is president and principal owner of Teer Associates, a commercial real estate development firm based in Research Triangle Park. The firm has worked with many major corporate clients in the region, including Sigma Xi, BiogenIdec Inc., United Therapeutics, Verizon, GlaxoSmithKline, IBM, SunTrust, Nortel, Research Triangle Institute, and Synthon Pharmaceuticals. He began his real estate career developing in Research Triangle Park in 1969. Mr. Teer also served in the United States Army Reserve for 28 years, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He lives in Durham with his wife, Susan Tatum Teer.

Mr. Teer has a bachelor of science degree from East Carolina University and completed postgraduate programs at the University of Tennessee and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also completed the Army command and General Staff College.
