On the Tracks of Progress

On the Tracks of ProgressAward-winning interviewer and Henderson, NC, native, Charlie Rose narrates On the Tracks of Progress - a nostalgic look at the history of North Carolina's storied railway system. In this illuminating hour-long special, co-produced by Preservation North Carolina and Mark Spano Communications in association with UNC-TV, take a ride through the history of commerce and transportation thoughout North Carolina, from the majestic restored train depots of Coolmore to Spencer’s railroad museum, and catch the train's impact on the state.

On the Tracks of Progress is the first program in a three-part architectural series produced and directed by Mark Spano for Preservation North Carolina. The series focuses on North Carolina historic sites and also includes the programs At Work & At Play and Far Fetched and Dear Bought.
