Faith performs holiday favorites backed by a 31-piece orchestra and 9-person choir, featuring beautiful new versions of ten traditional and modern classics, complete with horns, strings, woodwings, percussion and chorales, much like the big-band orchestras of the 40's and 50's. One of the most popular music stars in America, Faith Hill celebrates the joy-and faith- of the season with 'Joy to the World.'

Featuring dozens of Elvis' gospel songs, He Touched Me: The Gospel Music Of Elvis Presley explores his faith and the prominent role that gospel music played throughout his life as witnessed by those who knew him well. Anecdotes, by Gospel greats Ed Enoch (The Stamps), the late J. D. Sumner (The Stamps), Jake Hess (The Imperials), Myrna Smith (The Sweet Inspirations), Ray Walker (The Jordanaires) and many more, trace Elvis' Gospel roots and are skillfully interwoven with performances of Elvis singing Gospel music.

Go behind-the-scenes at the San Diego Zoo for a rare look at the first year of life of a baby Giant Panda.  "Zhen Zhen" captivates visitors at the Zoo with her antics and charm, but she also represents hope for the future of this endangered species. Panda Tales combines music and fun scenes of the baby panda growing up with the science behind panda conservation efforts.

This month Our State revisits some of your favorite people and places starting Thursday, December 4, at 8 PM, with stops at Bertie County's treasured Hope Plantation; the timeless mountain village of Saluda and in Boone to see artist Noyes Capehart and his provocative work. Other spots featured in December include historic civic clocks, the state ferry system and four cities' fun parades. Return to the exquisite home and horticulture collection at Chinqua Penn Plantation in Reidsville; the Bowman family's dairy where slow pasteurization creates a delicious effect; and the O'Brien's flourishing fl ower farm. Revel in renowned glass artist John Kuhn's fascinating creations; Asheville's architectural legacy at Grove Arcade; and grist mills in the Great Smoky Mountains.

In celebration of the remarkable achievements of legendary songwriter, producer and maestro to the stars David Foster-- including 15 Grammy Awards and a host of other accolades-- some of the biggest names in contemporary music gather for a one-night-only concert that brings down the house. From the stage of Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Kenny Babyface Edmonds, Boz Scaggs, Kenny G, Peter Cetera, Brian McKnight, Michael Johns, Blake Shelton, Cheryl Lynn, Charice and Katharine McPhee join in the celebration, along with a special performance by Celine Dion and long-distance best wishes from Barbra Streisand.

Round out the evening, at 10, with one of the purest voices in American music in the Winterfest premiere of Alison Krauss: A Hundred Miles or More featuring Brad Paisley, John Waite and two legendary Tar Heels--bluegrass great Tony Rice and singer/songwriter James Taylor.The special features Krauss's collaboration with John Waite on the single "Missing You," as well as Krauss's contributions to film soundtracks, including the Oscar-nominated songs "The Scarlet Tide" and "You Will Be My Ain True Love," written for the motion picture "Cold Mountain," and "Down to the River to Pray" from the film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"
