Aunt Kate

Kate Burgess Hollingworth was born April 6, 1917 in Harnett County, North Carolina to Margaret McKay and Alton Burgess. The eldest of six children, John, Gilbert, Mack Louise and Dora, Kate spent much of her life on the family farm just outside of Mamers, NC.

She was married to Master Sergeant Arthur "Holly" Hollingworth on August 8, 1944 at the age of 23 and together they raised three children - Caroline, Mickey and Kathy. Today, she enjoys her three grandchildren and continues to spend much of her time sewing and cooking while dabbling in art as a hobby.
