Phillip J. Kirk, Jr.
Phil Kirk currently serves as Director, Energy Services and New Business Development/Corporate Marketing Leader for Brady, a 48-year-old Greensboro-based company specializing in energy efficiency, heating, and air-conditioning. He chairs the Public School Forum of North Carolina Board and is a member of boards associated with Meredith College, the Visiting International Faculty program, North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching Foundation, Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Foundation and Learning Station.
Prior to joining Brady, Kirk served as Vice President for External Relations at Catawba College in Salisbury, his alma mater, for three years and as President/CEO of North Carolina Citizens for Business and Industry and Publisher of the NORTH CAROLINA magazine for 20 years. He is Chairman Emeritus of the State Board of Education and also served as Vice Chairman of the State Board of Community Colleges. Kirk has also served as Chief of Staff for Governors Jim Holshouser and Jim Martin and Senator Jim Broyhill. He has also been a North Carolina State Senator, public school teacher, newspaper reporter, nursing home administrator, and radio announcer.
