Ashe County Armed Forces Tribute (2008)

Each year, the Ashe County community gathers to pay tribute to the region's men and women who have gone to serve their country in the armed forces. They honor both veterans and those currently serving.   It is a heartfelt tribute to those who have put their personal comfort behind when duty called. 

UNC-TV partners with the Jeffersons Rotary Club to share this special event with viewers statewide. Through satellite technology, the community gathered in Ashe County talks directly with members of the armed forces who are serving throughout the world.  This 90-minute broadcast also includes North Carolina veterans sharing their own military experiences.
