While Morton
was in Luzan during World War II, his job was to photograph the
soldiers. One day, he was with the soldiers as they were looking
for a Japanese sniper in a cave. After the soldiers shot the cave
to pieces, the side of the cave suddenly collapsed, sending rock
and shrapnel everywhere. Morton was injured, but his camera kept
him from sustaining more serious facial injuries. It was an unforgettable
and frightening experience, as Morton describes in this video clip.
