Sample Agenda
1. Facilitator introduces self and welcomes the group.
2. Have participants introduce themselves and tell why they were interested in attending this session.
3. Deliver a brief overview of the UNC-TV and Television Race Initiative project ( the enclosed description can be read ).
4. Describe the goals for this screening.
5. Explain the simple ground rules for the session.
6. Ask the participants to note the thoughts and feelings that are being triggered in them about the oppression of people based on race and skin color as they watch the tape.
7. Show a pre-selected clip of the tape (15 to 20 minutes).
8. Conduct the discussion.
9. Close the discussion by asking the participants what lesson they are taking away with them following this session.
10. Pass out the evaluation forms.
11. Conclude the event with generous thanks.
12. Have someone collect the evaluations as the participants leave.
