Using Broadcast Programs

Television is a tool. People watch it and talk about what they have seen. Strong, interesting, and relevant programs are at the heart of the Television Race Initiative's efforts. This three year, multi-tiered effort will use character-driven television programs to create a spine for sustained community dialogue. These programs that illustrate the positive role television can play in public life and that can be used to pursue measurable, ongoing outcomes.

The producers of these programs have allowed a generous, off-air copyright of one year for educational purposes. This allows organizations to record the program as it is being broadcast and to use segments of it to stimulate discussions which complement the programs and the mission of the Initiative. These programs will also be available for purchase and UNC-TV will direct you to the agencies which handle these orders.
