College Telecourses

Participating Institutions - Broadcast Schedule

Because you found your way to UNC-TV's telecourse section, we know you have some interest in college level courses. Whether that interest includes taking a course for credit toward a degree, improving your skills to get that promotion at work, or simply exploring a subject you want to know more about, UNC-TV telecourses are the right place to start.

UNC-TV's telecourses are brought to you by UNC-TV and North Carolina's college system. UNC-TV broadcasts the telecourses and the colleges provide the course materials - whether television programs or online lessons - and the colleges provide the instructors, register the students, and award the credit. You don't actually take a course from UNC-TV; you must register through your local college.

There are dozens of colleges participating in the telecourse program - and one of them is right for you. Many of the courses they offer can be taken entirely at a distance - meaning you can learn at a time and place that's convenient for you. Through special programs integrating video, print materials and an on-campus instructor, you can earn college credit, and even a degree, in the comfort of your own home. UNC-TV broadcasts telecourses on the 12 stations of our statewide network in association with the North Carolina Telecourse Consortium. These telecourses are available at a time that fits your busy schedule and are a popular option for people who find it impossible or inconvenient to travel to a campus for regularly scheduled classes.

Through Going the Distance, you can earn your college degree through telecourses. The Going the Distance project offers both entry level and advanced telecourses that allow adult learners to earn a college degree. UNC-TV and participating telecourse colleges continue to expand the program each year.
