Producer's Assistant Internship - NC Science Now
For Academic Credit

Preferred Major:
Communication Studies, Journalism, or related field.

Requirements:
Undergraduate or Graduate Level enrollment for the following Fall semester.

Project Objective:
Provide experience in television and video production, and online content creation.

Project Supervisor:
Galen Black, Executive Director of Internal Productions

Major Tasks:
Work closely with producer to find and research stories that match the project goals of the North Carolina Science Now project. Assist in development of story ideas and topics. Assist in scheduling shoots and writing content for air and the web. Work in various roles in field production.

Final Product or Outcome:
Interns will have a direct impact on at least one segment and will get beginning-to-end producing experience as a part of the production team. By the end of the internship, the intern will have a variety of examples of television work for their resume.

Hours Scheduled:
8 hours per week (more work is available performing other tasks if a motivated applicant wishes to provide more hours of time per week)

Internship Duration:
Semester or longer
