Doris Phillips Loomis Appointed to UNC-TV Board of Trustees
RALEIGH - North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory has appointed Doris Phillips Loomis of Asheville to a four-year term on the UNC-TV Board of Trustees, which will run through May 31, 2018. She succeeds George Fleming of Raleigh on the Board. Ms. Loomis is an attorney for the law firm of McGuire, Wood & Bissette, P.A. She is a North Carolina State Bar board certified specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law. She has been with the firm since1981.
In addition, Ms. Loomis serves as mayor pro tem for the Town of Biltmore Forest. She is also currently a member of the Brevard Music Center Board of Trustees, Asheville Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors and MemoryCare Board of Directors and is Vice Chairman of Givens Estates, Inc. Board of Directors. Ms. Loomis is a 1978 graduate of Davidson College with a B.S. degree in Mathematics, and received a Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University in 1981. She is married to Ralph C. Loomis and has three sons, Graylyn, Chambers and Kiffen.
Robb Teer, chairman of the UNC-TV Board of Trustees, welcomed Ms. Loomis to the board, saying “We’re delighted to have the addition of Doris Phillips Loomis to the UNC-TV board. In addition to having the benefit of her leadership experience and knowledge, we’re pleased to have the perspective of another board member from the western part of the state.”
