Birth of a Colony: North Carolina is a documentary that examines the early history of North Carolina from the arrival of European explorers to the end of the Tuscarora war. This original UNC-TV production in association with the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources was written and produced by Horizon Productions, and features interviews with key historians; rare artifacts and archival images from a range of sources; and original footage shot on location in North Carolina, Virginia and South Carolina .
