Long Description:
2015 is the 50th anniversary of the supremely successful movie The Sound of Music, and we celebrate the classic 1965 motion picture adaptation of the beloved 1959 Broadway musical about the von Trapp family singers' escape from the Nazis. Our guests are writer Tom Santopietro, author of The Sound of Music Story, and Ted Chapin, of the Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization, who discuss the beloved show and the film's back stories. Also on the program, roving correspondents AndrewAndrew visit a press presentation of Something Rotten! Broadway's splashy new Elizabethan musical. Tony-winning director/ choreographer Casey Nicholaw presents musical highlights (featuring actors Christian Borle, John Cariani, Brian d'Arcy James and Brad Oscar) of what could very well be one of the hits of the season.
