A SEARCH FOR "HOME"
Saturday, May 8 at 10 AM

Wherever we live during our lives, we all have a personal definition of "home." Emotional, psychological and geographic factors often shape the concept of “home.” For new arrivals to our country, a search for "home" can be puzzling and difficult. This edition of Education Forum explores how “relocation” and “home” can have very different meanings.

Join Diane Lucas, UNC-TV's director of programming and educational outreach, and a panel of guests—including Norma Quinones, MEd, MSA, of the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction; international student Abraham Encinas; and Brenda Allen, MS, EdD, of Wake Technical Community College—for an insightful discussion about where "home" is and how it might be rapidly changing in a fast-paced global environment.

In addition to watching examples of video essays from the "My Journey Home" national outreach project by Central Carolina Community College students, you can view them on this site.
