English As A Second Language (ESL)

Connect with English

Connect With English uses the storyline or telenovela approach to language teaching and learning. The series follows the story of Rebecca Casey, a 28-year old Boston woman who leaves her job, her boyfriend, and her family to pursue her dream. Along the way Rebecca encounters everyday situations and issues that ESOL students face every day. Each half-hour program is broken into two 15-minute episodes-each corresponding to a chapter in the accompanying print materials. At the end of each episode, a model discussion session is included in which viewers see non-native speakers like themselves expressing their views.

*Workshops are adapted to audience needs in each of the areas listed above for distance learning administrators and faculties as well as students and community based organizations.
