Going The Distance

The GOING THE DISTANCE Project is a PBS initiative designed to facilitate degree completion opportunities for distance learners.  UNC-TV's statewide networks works with the North Carolina Telecourse Consortium to deliver courses to meet the degree completion needs of distance learners.  The emphasis is on quality, access, and acceleration of degree studies.  The primary goal of this project is to meet the needs of nontraditional students by offering quality courses through flexible learning modes and through options that recognize different learning styles. 

UNC-TV's Going The Distance program seeks to provide "time-free" and "space-free" modes of instruction through the adaptation of instructional technologies.  Through its ubiquitous or ever-present access, UNC-TV facilitates free access and provides high levels of interactivity through telecourses for college credit.

*Workshops are adapted to audience needs in each of the areas listed above for distance learning administrators and faculties as well as students and community based organizations.
