Each Sesame Street View and Do guide directs people who work with children about how to use PBS children's shows as an educational tool and gives suggestions for activities. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the files.
The Sesame Street View and Do is taking on a new look starting January 2008. View and Do will be posted to UNC-TV's website six times a year (every other month), versus monthly.
- Each posting will be written as a read-aloud short story. So even if you can't catch the episode when it airs, you can still share it with children.
- Instead of having a tip for each Sesame Street and Dragon Tales episode airing that month, all the tips will build off the feature story and will explore a wide variety of curriculum areas, including math, literacy, health, science, social and emotional development, music, art, and more... so you'll be able to explore a wider range of topics together with children. Child care providers will also find that these tips map into their core curriculum areas.
- Each bi-monthly View and Do will also include a take-home activity page that children can enjoy together with parents, caregivers, and/ or teachers.
- View and Do will be in full color. So you will have the option to print it out in color or black and white.
