We will now talk about the Learning Triangle model.  As part of our Ready to Lead in Literacy educational services, UNC-TV uses the PBS Kids Ready to Learn educational philosophy called the Learning Triangle.  We believe that learning a curve as we read a book related to a theme [ph], view a research-based educational video or DVD that reinforces that theme, and do a hands-on activity that reinforces the learning objective.  So, today, everything is going to be around Read-View-Do, even as we do the group activities.  We have the books to give you an opportunity to read books that relate to the theme.  We will reference It’s a Big, Big World episodes that you can use in the classroom, or even other media resources, such as the PBS websites.  And we will definitely do several hands-on activities during the workshop that you can use later in the classroom or at home.  The teachers will explore their “Safari for Learning Big, Big World Teacher Guide” and so much more.  You can also look at your guide.

F:
So, our first activity that you are now going to do is to look at your It’s a Big, Big World teacher guide that’s in front of you.  That’s your first activity.  Does everybody have one?  Okay.  Now, what does the title say?
