Allergies and Preparing for the Zoo
Here’s another opportunity to do a large group discussion. This time, let’s talk about allergies. There are so many different forms of allergies, such as grass, peanut, beestings, even sun. The teachers are encouraged to prepare for their safari by having all that is needed for the fieldtrip, such as their first aid kit, allergy list, emergency contact information and so much more. There are even resources on the PBS Kids website about allergies.
F:
We have one person here that’s allergic to grass [LAUGHTER]. Do you have children that are allergic to grass.
[OVERLAPPING COMMENTS]
M:
I used to be, but I guess I grew out of it.
F:
Okay. So, one of the things you prepare as you go to the zoo, and as you are doing any safari, you want to make sure you have all of your equipment in your backpack so that you’re ready for a hike.
