Guest Star Appearance by Curious George
Description of Event: This is one of several events that are for youth and designed to bring attention to Earth Week and Earth Day through fun, educational activities. All events are FREE! Kids and parents are invited to bring their bikes and line-up for a short ride around Carrboro. ALL Ages are welcomed to this event! Parents and adult chaperones must be present and all are welcome to participate in the biking activity. All riders MUST have a helmet and bring bottled water. UNC-TV/ PBS Activity: Curious George Wind exploration and Pinwheel Activity-children and other participants will create pinwheels and then place them on their bikes. Bikers will place the pinwheels they created on their bikes and participate in parade, showcasing their creations and promoting outdoor play.

UNC-TV/ PBS Activities: Exploring the Trees and Make Your Own Pine Cone Bird Feeder; Pet Rock-children select pre-collected rocks and then decorate the rocks; and the Curious George Wind Exploration-children observe the wind using a straw, tub of water and sand. (The park will provide staff or volunteers to conduct these activities.)
