Candidate Statement:

The success of Brunswick County schools depends on the policies pushed forward by our new superintendent and the sound decisions made by those serving on the school board. When I'm elected, I will bring over 32 successful years of experience serving the students of Brunswick County. Our students deserve a leader who will make rational decisions knowing that their future depends on it. With my leadership, I will advocate for a holistic approach to reform and to moving our educational policies forward.

When Elected, I Will:

  • Seek to develop a vocational and technology program targeted to students who are not going to college - by either partnering with the local community college or working to build a vocational high school. The goal of implementing a vocational/tech program will prepare our students to be more competitive in this global community.
  • Seek to create a non-partisan board that will keep politics and political ideology from interfering with the education of our students.
  • Work with the Superintendent and other board members to ensure that our students are given a first class 21st century education that will prepare them to reach their full potential.
  • Support the recruitment and employment of highly qualified personnel.
  • Support new and innovative educational programs.
  • Support open communication with parents and school personnel.
