Candidate Biography (submitted by candidate):

Born in Danville, Virginia in1955. Raised from young boy to adulthood right here in Caswell County. Attended Bartlett Yancey High School and graduated from Averett College in 1978. Married to Paula Perkins in June of 1978 and have two wonderful daughters. Worked for the Caswell County school system from 1979 until 2005, retiring in 2006. I served as Pastor of Ekklesia New Testament Church from 2004 to 2010.

I have lived in Caswell County for 50 years of my life and I love the county and the people. There is nowhere else I would want to be.

Candidate Statement:

I have heard it said "Tough times call for tough measures" and I agree completely. We must examine everything we do as a county to make sure we are being wise and frugal with taxpayer's money. I believe we must do line by line budget reviews with each department, cutting out wasteful practices and making others more cost efficient. I am strong supporter of our EMS, police, and volunteer fire departments and will strive to make sure we have strong service in these areas. We must constantly review our ordinances making sure they are effective while at the same time not placing undue burden on business or individuals. I want to work to see our board work in a more timely fashion on items brought before it. I believe each commissioner owes it to Caswell citizen's to be thoroughly prepared before each meeting.

I want to represent the people in the Pelham district and Caswell County according to their desires and not my own agenda, therefore, I plan to hold community meetings where you are given opportunity to express your concerns as well as make suggestions on how to make Caswell a better place for us all.
