Candidate Statement:

First, thank you for getting involved in finding the right person for the CMS Board of Education, a person who can bring the so needed change.

I am Hans Peter Plotseneder, the one with the longest name on the ballot. I have been in Charlotte for 15 years; married to a native Charlottean; four of our five children attended CMS schools.

I am a teacher -- I know what needs to be done to reduce our extremely high drop-out rate, and to close the achievement gaps. It is unacceptable that more than one Third of our high school students do not finish school. People say 'Plotseneder -- The Gap Terminator'.

We need to put students and teachers first! Key measures include to provide EVERY student with an 'Individual Education Plan', re-establish discipline in our schools, update our curricula, alternative high school tracks, including occupational orientations with full diploma and the option to go to college, etc.

In addition to my other degrees, I acquired a Master in Education from UNCC in 2004. I have North Carolina licenses for teaching, principal, and Curriculum Specialist. I have more international experience than any other candidate.

My extensive business experience includes having worked for Bank of America, having been the Worldwide Program Manager for Human Factors with IBM, and president of a software company.

Please visit www.DrPlots.com for more details about my background and my commitments to you. My list of published books and articles can also be found on that web site.

If elected, I will focus on  'Students and Teachers First'. -- I welcome any questions or invitations for presentations or meetings. By phone: 704-906-2900 or by e-mail: DrPlots@DrPlots.com .

Together we can make CHANGE happen. Our children deserve our best!

I would appreciate your support!
