Candidate Statement:

As a Board member I will focus on closing the achievement gap, to do this we will strategically place highly effective educators in every school. We would also need to strategically place supportive and motivating leaders in every school.  I will also focus on increasing the graduation rate, better intervention strategies will be applied and more support services will be offered.  With the aforementioned items as the highest priority, we will also have to work for more parent involvement; this will include educating parents (Parent University) so that they are able to support their student.

I have a vision of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools that includes the entire county, not just District 3.  I was born in Charlotte, raised in Charlotte, attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and I have faith in the Public School System. I want every child to receive a valuable and enriching education like I did -- my goal on the Board of Education is to make sure Children Are Priority #1
