| County Commissioner (District 5) |
|
Candidate Biography (submitted by candidate):
I am a native of Chatham Co. I've been married to Abby for 32 years and we have three sons. I am currently living on the farm where I was born and raised. I grew up raising poultry, cattle, and hay crops, along with tobacco. It was in this environment that my parents instilled work ethics and integrity. I also learned to be a good steward of the land and livestock that has provided an income for our family ever since it was farmed by my Great Grandfather
I graduated from NC State in 1978 with a degree in agriculture. I began working for Bradshaw Supply Co., which was a family business located in Siler City, serving the Ag industry. I continued in that business in sales and management until it was sold in 1993. After that, I started an equipment rep business which brought me into the generator industry. Currently I own and operate Atlantic Power Solutions Inc. a generator company providing sales and service in the southeast U.S.

| Candidate Statement:
Having 30 years of experience in business management I believe I have the knowledge and conscience to make responsible decisions that can secure the future of our County.
There should be a strong effort to attract new business and provide an economic climate for businesses to flourish in our county. Sadly when our children are grown they have to leave home to find work. They should have the option of a career in the area.
I oppose excessive taxing to cover wasteful spending. As a business owner I have to operate within a budget that would produce a profitable financial statement. Our county should operate within the same guidelines.
I believe in an individual’s liberties and freedom and oppose anything that takes these God-given rights away (Including land use regulations).
I strongly believe that County Commissioners should be a voice for the people they serve. The decisions that are made and the programs implemented should benefit the people of Chatham County.
