| Candidate Statement:
The ancestors of both sides of my family tree (Hollowells and Asbells) have been residents of Chowan County for many generations. Most of my childhood and much of my adult life I have spend hunting, fishing, and enjoying this community that I seek to represent. Over history so many families have been joined through marriages that I feel related and have strong ties with so many other family groups than my own.
My love for Chowan County spans through my whole life and I would be truly honored to represent the residents of this section of Chowan County. So many things have changed i.e. Cannons Ferry, Hollis Wharf, Dillards Mill Pond, Cross Roads, and Center Hill Communities. Yet so many have flourished; i.e. Whitemans Service Center, Nixons Fishery, Center Hill Crossroads' Volunteer Fire Department and all of our outstanding churches.
Some of the goals we need to seek in order to improve and upgrade our great community are - commercial businesses locating in the area, improving our great school system, supporting and encouraging our existing businesses, expanding our fire, sheriff, and rescue services, increasing our involvement in activities for our young people, assisting our agricultural families and providing support services for the aging individuals in our community.
