My name is Karen Etheridge and I am pleased to be your candidate for the Currituck County Board of Education. I have been a resident of Currituck County for thirty years.

We are very proud of our children and feel they received an excellent education from Currituck County Schools to help prepare them for their college years.
Currently I am a Realtor with Sun Realty and have held this position for twenty-three years. I have been privileged to work with numerous homeowners in Currituck County and would love to represent you, the public, in this position.
I am dedicated to my work and to my community. I am involved in discussions with the citizens of Currituck County every day and know the concerns that we are facing with our youth and our schools. I feel I can make a positive difference in the lives of the children of Currituck County.

| Candidate Statement:
Our children are the future of Currituck County. I promise to keep their best interests at heart and provide them with the opportunities to succeed. I am very excited to bring fresh ideas and a new perspective to the Currituck County Board of Education.
In order for our schools to be successful we must have community and parental support. I believe our teachers are our most important resource. I have been able to get to know many of our teachers and I know they are not teaching for the money. It is their genuine concern for our children that keeps them in this profession.
My goal is for Currituck County to have the top schools in the State of North Carolina.
