Candidate Biography (submitted by candidate):
My name is Susan Frye and I am a candidate for Clerk of Court in Forsyth County. I am a life long resident of Forsyth County. I am fifty seven years old and a mother of two and grandmother of four. I am an active member of Hope Community Church. I have thirty one years of experience in the judicial system.
I have attended High Point College and Forsyth Technical College. I started with the Clerks office in 1976 working for A.E. Blackburn working in Criminal Superior Court as a courtroom clerk. I also worked in many other areas of the court system when needed.
Working in these other areas of the clerk's office was a great learning benefit for me allowing me to know how each department operates. In 1980 I developed and implemented the Pretrial Release and Indigence Screening program for Judge William Z. Wood, Sr. and Judge Judson D. DeRamus.
In 1991 I was employed by the Forsyth County Office of the Sheriff to develop and implement the Classification process for the Forsyth County Detention Center. 2000 I was employed by the Sheriff of Durham County to manage and operate the food service for the inmates in the Durham County Jail.
In 2004 I developed and implemented the Deferred Payment program for the Chief District Court Judge William B. Reingold. Retired early in 2006 to care for my elderly mother and operate a business.
I returned to work for William B. Reingold in 2009 to manage the Arbitration in District Court. My work records proves that I have the experience and the knowledge to streamline the clerk's office and make it more efficient.

| Candidate Statement:
My priorities: School teachers and other school workers can have their jury duty deferred until summer or breaks during the school year rather than miss valuable teaching time and the expense of hiring someone to work in their absence. This is a savings to the school system.
I will work to develop a school court that would allow cases which involve teachers, principles, or students to be heard in separate court. This would avoid school personnel from spending long periods of time away from their valuable jobs. To work to relocate juvenile's court and all departments involved to an appropriate building to allow all agencies involved with juveniles to have a central area to work and provide services.
I would allow attorneys to call in for traffic continues: limited to two times. This would allow the court to move faster, and would avoid defendants from missing work or school unnecessarily. I would make the clerks office user friendly for the public. I would hire employees to meet the needs of the Hispanic community. The current clerk's office does not reflect the demographics of the community of which is serves. There are no black males and one Hispanic employee out of 100 employees. I can and would improve the moral of the clerk's office by giving the employees consistent guidelines for promotions and disciplinary issues.
