Candidate Biography (submitted by candidate):
I was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, and moved to North Carolina to attend college. I graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor's degree in History and Economics and met my future wife, Laura, while a student there.
After completing my degree, I worked as a legislative assistant for US Congressman Tommy F. Robinson from Arkansas. Soon after my experience working with the US Congress, I attended law school at the University of Arkansas.
In 1993, my wife and I moved to Winston-Salem to start a family. I began practicing law and my wife began her residency as an anesthesiologist.
I am the proud father of three children; John, Michael and Martha. My family and I are members of St. Leo's Catholic Church. Currently, I serve as Chairman of the Ethics Committee for Hospice and Palliative Care Center. I also serve on the boards for Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) and the Winston-Salem Lacrosse Association and am the co-president of Triad Area Youth Lacrosse Association.

| Candidate Statement:
I am running for County Commissioner to move Forsyth County in a positive and progressive direction over the next four years.
Forsyth County has lost many good jobs over the last decade and, while the Caterpillar deal is great news, it is only a beginning. We need to create jobs and attract new businesses to Forsyth County.
In these tough economic times the county must be fiscally responsible. The county should work with other governmental and non-profit organizations to assess the community's needs and how best to serve the residents of Forsyth County without duplicating efforts and programs.
We also must ensure that we provide the educational opportunities our residents need by improving our library system and by working with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Board of Education to provide the technology our students need.
