Candidate Biography (submitted by candidate):
My husband, John Adams and I met at NC State University while we were students there and just recently celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary. We have two beautiful daughters. Our oldest daughter, Meredith Adams, is an executive chef at Eurasia in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Our younger daughter, Lauren Adams, is an assistant professor at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. I am employed with Wells Fargo Bank.
I have served the people of Greene County since 1994 on the Board of Education, most of that time as Chairman. During that time, I have also served two terms statewide as a director on the NC School Boards Association, the professional organization that represents all 115 local boards of education in North Carolina. I have also served two terms as a Trustee on the NC School Board Trust (NCSBT), which handles Risk Management and provided workers' compensation, errors and omissions, and general liability exposures through the commercial market place. Both of these gave me in depth experience on the issues facing education.

| Candidate Statement:
This is probably the most important election in many years. Given the financial climate and cuts to education, it is important that we have board members who are knowledgeable and understand what must be done to keep our schools moving forward and insure that every public school student in Greene County will graduate from high school globally competitive, ready for work, postsecondary education and prepared for life in the 21st Century. I ask you to please support me!
