Candidate Statement:

First, I want thank you for your interest in your community and confidence in me to make our city a better place to live. Second, I want to ask for your support in this year's election. In asking for your support, I want to give you an idea of what I have been able to accomplish in just over a year on City Council. When we began this path, our focus was on three issues:

1. Fiscal Responsibility - I was an integral part in maintaining a no tax increase for two budget cycles. We were able to achieve this with little impact to city services expected and deserved by Greensboro citizens.

2. Economic Development - I have taken steps to make our city government and its processes more receptive to the needs of existing businesses. In a time where many existing jobs are being reduced, we have to continue to push for new jobs and preserve the ones we have.

3. Transparency and Communication - When campaigning, I promised to keep the lines of communication open. To achieve this I have hosted many neighborhood meetings, as well as, attended community meetings throughout District 3 and our city. In attempt to have transparency, and hold Council members accountable for our comments and practices, I made a motion that was largely passed to tape closed sessions.

In these historic economic times, leadership is more important than ever. Being your City Council representative has been the toughest and most rewarding public service job I have had the pleasure to accept. My enthusiasm for our city has never been greater. At this time, I ask for your continued support and advice. Please, let me know your thoughts, I hope to hear from you.
