Candidate Statement:

I am running for City Council because

  • Current Council  has strained relationships with each other that has made them ineffective
  • My experience will help Greensboro solve complex issues that need addressing,   including, but not limited to, and in random order:
    • Restoring confidence in City government
    • Determining priorities for capital improvements
    • Finding a long term solution for solid waste (garbage) disposal
    • Reducing Traffic Congestion
    • Creating an atmosphere to bring jobs to the City and area
    • Resolving current legal issues, hopefully through mediation
    • Restoring confidence in City Government
    • Being  a leader in promoting regionalism
    • Implementing City/County consolidation opportunities.
  • 47% of the adopted 2009-10 City Budget of $422 million is allocated to Water Resources, Transportation and Debt Service,  my areas of expertise and experience.
