Candidate Statement:

My experience as a teacher working with special needs students, and as a principal serving students Pre-K through grade six, as well as my knowledge of curriculum and instruction provides me with greater insight into the complexity of managing a school system. When challenged with budget and instructional decisions, I think not only about the requirements and the resources available, I also think about how my decision will impact a school, its students and its staff.  I am familiar with all areas of the county, visit schools regularly and also continue to work with students through field trips and environmental study.

Our public schools are one of our most valuable assets.  Providing basic education and expanded educational opportunities for all of our children is extremely important.  Educating children has been my life's work and I'm not ready to quit.
