Candidate Statement:

At any given time, less than one half of a % of the water on the Earth is drinkable. This is particularly important to Guilford County that is bereft of a natural source of drinking water. The public's awareness of water conservation has begun to change and the Board is in need of fresh thinking. While the tenants of stream buffering and education hold as true today as they did in the 1930s, they are many new options and opportunities to explore. This important Board has been dominated by retirees who have a wealth of knowledge and experience but seem to lack the energy, political will and desire to foster large scale change and awareness.

I am interested in advancing the concept of proper stream management for our farmers and landowners and awareness and application of re-emerging water catchment technologies for our population. If elected, I will work hard to accomplish the goals and to keep the citizens of Guilford County aware of the Board's progress. Thank you for your support.
