Candidate Statement:

I am running for High Point city Council in Ward 5. I think the city needs to look at ways to increase the number of small businesses in High Point. There are many ways to provide help such as an incubator for initial startup, tax incentives, and lower costs. The city should also continue, and improve, the process of getting large companies to move into High Point. The city needs to control spending better than it has been. The utility costs for citizens and businesses in High Point are higher than any other community in the area. This needs to be looked at and addressed. The disaster response process needs to be reviewed, as it is inadequate. Most importantly, I feel that the citizens of High Point are not being represented well. I think that many of the council members are out of touch. I want to be the voice for everyone in Ward 5.
