Candidate Biography (submitted by candidate):

I am a 1994 graduate of Weldon High School. After completing high school, I continued my studies at Elizabeth City State University where I received a B.A. in Sociology/Social Work. I also hold a M.Ed. in School Administration and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Leadership/Superintendent. I am currently the Parent Involvement Coordinator for Northampton County Schools. I have served as an Exceptional Children's Teacher and an Assistant Principal.

I am a member of the Citizens Advisory Team for Halifax County and it has been an honor to serve my county in that capacity. Over the past ten years, I have held several roles in education and seen changes in the educational system. We need change in our school system. I have a reputation of being fair, honest, and looking for the best interest of the children during my tenure as an educator. I am a true example of what an advocate for children is. My experience and research in education will be a great asset to Weldon City School Board.
